If you’ve ever explored the Laws of Attraction, tried to raise your vibration, or attempted manifestation, you know the thrill of discovering just how powerful your mind could be. Back in 2019, I was right there with you. I had just finished reading The 12 Universal Laws, and I felt like I had unlocked the secrets of the universe.
But something wasn’t clicking.
Despite daily journaling, creating beautiful vision boards, and repeating powerful affirmations, things weren’t shifting the way I wanted them to. It felt like I was hitting a bit of a wall. That’s when I started doubted myself, and in my darkest moments even doubted all this manifestation “nonsense.” The reality was it wasn’t about the teachings or energy, it was something within me: I still struggled with shame. I still made decisions from fear, not alignment.
Simply put: I was reading the laws—but I wasn’t living them.
From Knowledge to Embodiment
The Law of Attraction is powerful. So is the concept of manifestation. But what most people don’t talk about is this:
You don’t manifest from your thoughts alone. Thoughts create your emotional state. And those emotional states determine your frequency. What you are manifesting is determined by your frequency, not your thoughts alone.
I’ve been there. Dreaming into my vision board, or repeating my favourite mantras. But words without emotion are just words- there’s no power in them. In order to really feel into the words, you need to fuel it with genuine emotion. You can’t trick the universe. That’s one thing I love about the 12 Universal Laws — they will reveal for you your own energetic or emotional blind spots.
That’s where the Frequencies of Emotions changed everything for me.
When I came across David Hawkins’ Map of Consciousness, it offered me an illustration that allowed me to understand manifestation at a deeper level. According to this model, emotions like shame, guilt, and fear vibrate at a lower frequency, while emotions like courage, love, and joy operate at a higher one.

Suddenly, it made sense. I wasn’t attracting what I wanted because deep down, beyond my day-to-day thoughts, I was still carrying low-frequency emotions such as shame, anxiety, and fear. And if you grew up gay in a world that didn’t always accept you, you probably know exactly what that feels like.
In coaching we call these limiting beliefs – the deep core beliefs that you inherited in childhood or adolescence that have now become a seemingly permanent fixture in your mind. As little boy who knew that I was different from the other boys and who believed that different = bad; I had a naturally developed a deep sense of “not good enough” and “I will never truly be accepted for who I am.” These beliefs weren’t at the forefront of my consciousness, yet they were impacting my frequency and therefore, my manifestation.
My Turning Point
I realized that I didn’t need another book or another YouTube video about manifesting my dream life. What I needed was:
- Emotional regulation techniques
- Real, genuine confidence – not performative “fake it till you make” stuff
- Compassion and love for my most painful parts
- Greater understanding of my emotional states (i.e. emotional intelligence)
- A sense of worthiness that didn’t depend on external validation
In other words, I needed to do the work.
And when I did, things started to really shift in meaningful ways. I started to trust myself more. Speak up more. Say no more. I started to choose what felt right, not what looked good.
That’s when I realized: the Universal Laws aren’t just concepts to memorize. They’re a way of life. A framework for embodiment.
And it’s what led me to become a coach.
Coaching Is the Bridge
Today, I see people all over social media sharing quotes and platitudes. That’s nice, but that’s not enough. Passive learning is only half the battle. Application and action is where the rubber hit the road and things get hard. That’s why I love to coach people who are ready to stop reading and start living these laws. That looks different for everyone, but it often involves:
- Acknowledging and releasing old stories rooted in fear and shame
- Aligning thoughts and emotions with what they actually want, not just focusing on the surface level outcomes
- Building confidence to take aligned action
- Cultivating higher-frequency states like courage, gratitude, and peace
This isn’t about toxic positivity or bypassing real emotions. It’s about facing them head-on so they no longer control you. That’s where the real frequency shift happens.
