“Don’t show them your framework.”

That’s what a lot of coaches and counselors in my industry say to me. “Make them need you,” they say. “If you give it away, why would they keep paying you?”

But that advice has never sat well with me.

Empowerment > Gatekeeping

As an empowerment coach, wouldn’t it make more sense to actually empower my clients?
To give them knowledge, tools, processes, and frameworks they can use to better their lives?

After all, I’m not in the business of hoarding wisdom. I’m in the business of helping people live on their own terms. 🌈

Some want the method- others don’t

Not every client wants to understand the nuts and bolts of the process. Some just want to show up, sit back, and get coached. And that’s totally okay with me!

But others love that I show them the coaching model. Not only does it help them understand themselves, but they can use it in their everyday lives to:

• Make better decisions 🧠
• Navigate hard conversations 📣
• Set goals ✅
• Improve relationships 👋

The real magic happens between coaching sessions

When clients start using the tools outside of our sessions, that’s when the shift really happens. They don’t have to wait for me; they start thinking and doing things differently—on their own.

Of course, our 1-on-1 sessions are still there to guide them. It’s their dedicated space to ask questions, process emotions, strategize solutions, and bounce ideas off of. I also ask powerful questions and help them see new perspectives they may not find on their own.

Coaching, after all, is more than just a framework.

Sharing the method adds value

I believe wholeheartedly that teaching someone to coach themselves doesn’t make me less valuable. It makes me more valuable.

When someone changes the way they think, they change the way they live– and that’s something they can keep with them forever.

So yes, I’ll share my framework and tools. Because that’s what empowerment actually looks like. ✨

That’s not a threat to my business. That’s the whole point of it.
